A Cautionary Tale

The times of turpitude

The trips

The thrill

The prowling and the preying

And the privilege of not paying the bill

The breach

The overstep

The case

The war

The naming and exposing

And the voices then disclosing

there’s more

So there was the shock and the shame

Set in motion was the flock and the flame

Now the notion was to block and to blame

Every sin is on the table now

The kings

The geniuses

The rich

The strange

All falling off their horses

Subject to the forces of change

And then there was the rage

The return

From the man who had no bridge left to burn

No intention to reflect

or to learn

Yet demanding all our sympathies

Who knows who’s right or wrong

Whose word is true

How you see him and depict him

As a demon or a victim

Depends on if it could have been you
